Program the Range Rover Body Control Module (BCM) using Pathfinder in conjunction with RLink
1. Prepare one computer pre-installed with OE software, and ensure it has sufficient power. Tip: It is recommended to connect the computer to a power supply throughout the programming process to avoid interruptions caused by a power failure.
2. The computer must be connected to a wired network, ensuring a download speed of ≥5 M/s. For certain ECUs with large data volumes, excessive network latency or network interruptions can directly result in programming failures.
3. The vehicle must be connected to a dedicated voltage-regulated power supply for programming, maintaining the voltage within the range of 13.2V–14.5V. Voltage fluctuations may cause programming failures; therefore, it is essential to ensure a stable power supply.
4. Park the vehicle on a level surface to prevent the risk of rolling away. A sloped surface may lead to accidents during the programming process.
5. Verify that the power supply and ground circuits of the ECU are functioning correctly, and confirm that the information of the target ECU is fully consistent with that of the current vehicle's ECU.
6. When programming a refurbished ECU, strictly adhere to the manufacturer's operating guidelines. Some refurbished ECUs (e.g., anti-theft models) may not pass validation using the original OEM software; second-hand ECUs may require their data to be cleared before use, otherwise programming may fail.
7. It is recommended to prioritize the use of a brand-new ECU for programming, and a regulated power supply must be connected during the programming process.
8. During the programming process, please carefully read the operating instructions provided in the OEM software, strictly follow the steps, and do not perform any operations without authorization.
9. After a programming failure, first check the vehicle's status and whether the diagnostic equipment is properly connected.
10. If the system status is normal, it is recommended to put the vehicle into sleep mode for 30 minutes before attempting the programming process again; powering off or putting the vehicle into sleep mode can clear cached erroneous data, thereby increasing the success rate of retries.
11. If the vehicle's instrument cluster fails to display information after a programming failure, it is recommended to re-perform the programming directly; do not disconnect the device from the power supply, and do not turn off the ignition switch.
Note: Please use a brand-new ECU for programming whenever possible. During the programming process, be sure to connect it to a regulated power supply.
1. Remove the RLink device, then connect it to the vehicle's OBD diagnostic port and the computer's USB port respectively, ensuring a secure connection.
2. Once the device connection is established, launch the RLink Platform software, use the connection information within the platform to verify the vehicle's connection status, confirm whether the driver app has been downloaded, and select the RLink mode in the Land Rover Driver app.
Note: Before programming with Pathfinder software, it is recommended that you log in to your RLink Platform account to check for available software or firmware updates. If updates are available, you should install them before proceeding with vehicle programming.
3. Double-click to open Pathfinder.
4. Log in to your Pathfinder account, and based on your account permissions, select either an authorized service provider or an independent operator to log in.
5. During the first login, you will be prompted to select a VCI connection; in the "Communication" section, choose the driver mode related to TOPDON or RLinK, then click the back arrow on the right to return to the VIN identification page.
6. Once the setup is complete, click "Detect Vehicle" to proceed with vehicle recognition.
Note: For certain 2017 model year Pathfinder vehicles, the software is not supported; in such cases, the SDD software must be used. For certain 2022 and later model year vehicles, the TOPIX software is required.
7. Click on the Vehicle Control Module [BCM] to identify it.
8. After confirming the relevant ECU information, click "More ECU" to proceed with ECU programming.
Note that if the ECU is replaced, you must first update the CCF configuration file and perform the "Replace ECU" programming procedure.
9. Follow the prompts to turn on the ignition switch, then click "Next".
10. Follow the prompts to complete all steps.
11. Download the programming file
Note: Downloading the programming files requires a stable internet connection; please check your network connection before proceeding.
12. While programming is in progress, do not perform any operations on the vehicle, and ensure that the vehicle voltage remains stable.
13. Turn off and then turn back on the ignition switch, then click "Next".
14. Once programming is complete, the relevant sensors must be matched and calibrated.
