1. Activate the Device and Claim TopScan App Benefits
① Log in to the RLink Platform.

② Connect the RLink J2534 or RLink X7 to a computer using a USB cable, then click Bind and Activate.

③ Click Get $99 for free to claim the free 1-year benefits package for TopScan app access.

2. Download and Install the App
Method 1: Download the app from the mobile app store and install it.
① For iOS system: Search TopGuru in App Store, then download and install the app.
② For Android system: Search Top Scan in Google Play, then download and install the app.
Note: This app is compatible with iOS 11.0 and later, as well as Android 7.0 and later.

Method 2: Scan the QR code to enter the TOPDON official website to download and install the app.

Method 3: Visit the TOPDON official website to download and install the app.
Note: If you have registered an account on the RLink Platform and successfully claimed the 1-year TopScan benefits, you can directly log in to the TopScan App with the account. If RLink J2534 or RLink X7 is not linked to the account you use to log in to RLink Platform, it is recommended to download RLink Platform for device linking and activation first.3. Log in to Your Account
Note: To ensure normal access to the app, please log in with the same account used to claim the free benefits package.① Open the app, tap Log In, enter the same email address that you use on RLink Platform, and log in using the verification code.
② Alternatively, select Login with Password and enter the same email address and password that you use on RLink Platform to log in.

4. Bluetooth Connection
Note:1. After establishing a connection with the OEM diagnostic software, if you want to switch to the TopScan or TopGuru app for vehicle diagnostics, disconnect the USB connection between the computer and the RLink device, then replug the RLink device into the vehicle's OBD port.
2. After establishing a connection with the TopScan or TopGuru app, if you want to switch to the OEM diagnostic software for vehicle diagnostics, it is recommended to disconnect the Bluetooth connection between the smartphone and the RLink device before proceeding.
After logging in, follow the instructions in the app to connect the device to the vehicle's Data Link Connector (DLC).
Note: The device must be powered via its USB-C port or correctly plugged into the vehicle's DLC to enable Bluetooth connectivity (Note: The screenshot below is for demonstration only; the actual product and app interface shall prevail).
Bluetooth Connection for Android System:

① Ensure your phone's Bluetooth is enabled. Tap Next, turn the vehicle ignition switch to ON, confirm that the red indicator on the device is steadily lit, and tap Next to begin searching for the device.
② In the Bluetooth list, locate the Bluetooth device named by RLink. The Bluetooth name follows the format: "Rlink_" + the last four characters of the device's serial number (SN) (e.g., Rlink_J2534_014F).
③ Tap Done. When the icon is displayed as
, Bluetooth is connected successfully.
Note: If the device displays that it needs to be activated, tap Activate.
Bluetooth Connection for iOS System:
For iOS devices, Bluetooth connection must be established manually in the Bluetooth settings interface.
Procedure: Tap Settings button in the upper-left corner, then select Bluetooth to view the phone's Bluetooth list.
5. Download Diagnostic Software

The first time you use the diagnostic functions, you must download the software that matches the vehicle make. Please tap Diagnostics on the homepage, and then download the desired software. After the download is complete, you can perform vehicle diagnostics.
6. Vehicle Diagnostics
Prerequisites:
① Locate the vehicle's DLC and connect the device to it.
How to find the DLC location:

On the homepage, tap Repair Information > DLC Location. Then select the vehicle's make, model, and year, and tap Next. An image showing the DLC location for the selected vehicle will be displayed.
Note: Ensure the ignition switch is turned OFF before connecting the device. 
1. Turn the vehicle ignition switch to ON.
If your vehicle has a keyless ignition system with an Engine Start/Stop button (as shown in the picture below), press and hold the button until the vehicle enters ON mode. Do not press the brake when pressing the Engine Start/Stop button; otherwise you will start the engine instead of switching the vehicle to the ON mode.
Note: Ignition procedures vary by vehicle model. Please refer to the corresponding manual of the vehicle for details.

Diagnostic Procedure:

① Enter the home page of the app, tap Diagnostics, and the diagnostic software will be displayed.
② Select your vehicle brand (Hint: You can search the diagnostic software by make. This example uses Nissan).
Note: If Bluetooth is not connected, tap
icon in the upper-right corner to connect. The connection is established when the device indicator turns solid blue and
is displayed in the app interface. ③ Select either Automatic or Manual to identify the vehicle.
Note: Automatic is not applicable to some old models. In this case, please select Manual, and select the vehicle make, model, year and other information in sequence before performing diagnostics.
④ Tap Read to acquire the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), then tap Confirm after verifying the vehicle information.
Note: In some vehicles, the VIN cannot be read by the software because it is not stored in the ECU. In such cases, please enter the correct VIN manually.
⑤ Select Auto scan to proceed, and tap Scan to perform the full-system diagnostics.
